Artist's Comments

My obsession with umbrellas is growing. This was originally supposed to be based on Mia Doi Todd's song "88 Ways". But then it suddenly demanded to have a person floating via umbrella. Don't ask me why. And it didn't want to scan. My scanner hates me.

Used- watercolor, string, paper, a catalogue that is slowly dying because I use it for collage.

So are you putting recent art up here? Umbrellas are neat! Especially when you float from them. :) It looks pretty abstract except for the girl and the umbrella. Neat-o. Well, you're definitely getting pageviews from me! Mwuhahahahahahha. Okay. Adios amiga mía.

Yup! All of the ones up here besides Pulse, Dancer, and Dream Deferred are new. All except for Untitled and Priscilla were done this summer (Untitled I made in my book class. Etching is super fun! When you get the chance to take a print-making class you will see the joy of etching! Except it's really easy to get ink on your hands. But oh well! Priscilla was done at some point durring winter term.)

Yeah. It started out abstract and then the umbrella girl just kinda had to go there. I'm a little unhappy with it right now, but it was fun to make. It looks better in real life though.

Yay for pageviews from you! =D Talk to ya soon!

One can't help but think of this as a sort of Mary Poppins in training. Delightfully imaginative, like a childhood dream. . .to ride on the storm, without getting any on you.

I love this piece. It's so creative and it gives me this really.. relaxed emotion. Love the umbrella too. :)

that's such an interesting combination of textures! it's what drew me into the picture. The body seems to be facing the viewer on the top half and then sideways on the bottom. Which could be a result of twisting into the air I suppose but it throws the picture off a little. Otherwise it's amazing, I love the little dots and swirls and again, the texture is amazing.
good use of creativity.

The combination of textures reminds me of my friend's (Violent-Insomnia's) piece entitled "Cordova." As a fan of her artwork, I must say I am a fan of yours as well. Very good.

So, pretty much, the fact that we know stuff means it's all probably wrong. ^-^
